I will start with mine. 200 lb Excalibur crossbow, carbon express arrows, and Wasp boss broad head. I shot a young doe about 15 minutes after sunset and had trouble finding it because there was no blood trail and it ran into standing corn. Field dressing revealed that the broad head had slit open the heart and the body cavity was filled with blood but the exit wound was plugged with fat. I was amazed are the heart damage. The arrow shatter a rib which in turn destroyed the vane. Finally got the deer Amazed at the heart damage Look at those vanes Ghost

I will update my thread with a second deer. I hit this one a little high resulting in a poor blood trail. The deer ran into a thick of multiflora rose, black berries, lots of poison ivy, and too many small Hawthorn trees. Since I hunt alone it took and long, slow grid search to find the deer. Ghost

That's a BIG old doe. Nice crossbow, too . What model Excalibur is that? Exocet at 200 pounds is the largest legal crossbow in Illinois. Has more Kinetic Energy that my 50lb compound bow but I would go back to compounds or better yet longbow if I could find some way around old age and arthritis. Ghost

God bless you, Ghost. I have a crossbow I haven't used in five years. I took a doe with it at 15 yards then. It only has a 120 pound draw and I make the bolts for it myself with Ash. I might just go out and use it again this year.
You have a good one.

I've taken my new crossbow out just once so far. I had about a dozen does come feeding about 50yds from my stand, and would not come any closer. Go figure.
