After a year since BT gave me this recurve, I finally got a string for it...after shooting the one that was on it off in two days.. My bow arm is a little sore...this bow is 50# 28"..(which is my dl). I set the nock 1/2" above center, and the arrows seem to fly like they should. I'm noticing some serving separation on the loops, and I'm wondering if this is normal I really stink right now, but hopefully I can pull it together soon. I allready shot off the top silencer...damn... I need help! Any advice would be appreciated..thanks...

Spiker,
I don't think the way it is right now that it would be too much of an issue, but I'd keep an eye on it for wear on the string and the tips. This is one of the reasons I prefer Flemish strings.

The string that was on there first was a Flemish. I tried to get another one, but nobody carries them around here...

Ahhh, I have just the man for you! There is a fellow that I got a couple from last year and he does great work at a good price. He runs recurves.com and his name is Chad. He goes by LBR on most of the Trad forums. Super, super nice guy. He would have a custom made string or two to you in a matter of days. Check out the link below and you can order one slick as a whistle. The ordering form looks a little foreboding, so don't hesitate to call him on the phone or email him. He will email with you or talk to you to no end until you and he are absolutely sure you are going to get what you want. All for a single string. recurves.com/Bowstring_Order_Form.htm I might also add he has made a excellent DVD that teaches you to make your own Flemish strings. It includes just about everything from how to install silencers properly, center serving, and even how to make a homemade flemish string jig. It is touted on tradgang and the leatherwal, and rightfully so, as probably the best tutorial on how to make them. It is called "Doin' the twist" and is on his sight as well. I have one, but the two strings Chad made me (ordered one as a backup) show no sign of wearing out any time soon, so I haven't had to try to make one for myself yet, otherwise I'd make you one! And I don't think you want to be my guinea pig!! ;D Some people like endless loop strings for good reason, but some like flemish for good reason too. I feel they are quieter, the endloops are stronger and more durable, and they are soooooo easy to adjust to alter your brace. By the way, Chad makes some nice bows too for very reasonable prices. He makes a pretty cool flatbow called the Longhorn.

I hear ya. I wanted to show you how well Chad's strings hold up. I've got thousands of shots on this string and it shows almost no wear. The little tags of string you see on the flemish loop ends are normal and supposed to be there.
