I just hung up my Morrell's out door range target. It is MUCH better then laying down.I think it tightened the insides up because now I get a lot less penetration. And my arrows come out with no effort

Hanging it is the best way to go. I allows "give" from arrow impact. I have found over the years that a "bungee cord" stetched across the back of the bag about 6-8 inches up still allows the give but will keep the bag from swinging a lot after each shot. Just put a screw eye in the side posts about 6-8 inches up from the bottom of the bag and attach the cord. Use a cord sligtly shorter than the distance between the post so there is some tightness when you strtch the cord and attach it. This is mine (from the back): It is likely the "give" you created by hanging it that reduced penetration!

Yes !! hanging the bag makes it last so much longer... I went through the bag in less than a year when i first got one and the company stood by it but they told me how to make it last.. In fact it lasted 2 years before rebagging it just the other week...

I'll take a picture in the morning

Yea bowman, a roof is definitely a good idea. The outdoor range target is supposed to be weather proof but after having 1000 or so punctures from field tips, the water really seeps in when it rains. I have been wanting to put a roof over mine for at least the last 4 years...just never seem to get started on it!
