. I think Truglo needs to go back to the drawing board with their Apex series of higher end sights. I've owned my Apex Nitrus 6 pin sight for about 3 months. Trouble since day one. The first time out I broke the pin locks on 2 different pins. Very delicate little pieces of metal. A little voice was whispering "take it back", but did I listen, noooo . Gradually, the sight block started to loosen from it's bracket. Now, no matter how hard I tighten it down, there's still some play. The windage lock bolt for some ungodly reason will not tighten and just simply spins. It would be an easy fix if it weren't for the fact that this is a microadjust sight and I would just end up with pile of pieces. Oh yeah, the micro-adjust is supposed to have audible clicks-never did that. The final nail in the coffin was this morning. The first few shots at 20yds was a nice little 1.5" group....6 inches away from the bull A visual inspection confirmed the sight had moved. There is absolutely no way for me to tighten down the bracket anymore, I've stripped and replaced 3 screws attempting to do so. I've never ever had any trouble with a TruGlo sight, except this one. I'll be heading out to Bass Pro today to replace the sight. I hope this post will save someone $120.00.

That just sucks Doegirl. Try sending Truglo and email with this same information and when and were you purchased your sight. It never hurts to mention it to them and they may even replace it with a differnt sight for you.
Let us know how it turns out for you and thanks for the heads up.

Oh man, I almost bought that sight for my wife a few weeks ago, and opted for the Cobra...which doesn't have hash marks....but thats a different story.. I swear companies are getting worse, rather than better with quality, and charging more for it... I'm with SL....email them and explain the problem...hopefully they have better customer service than their product..

If there's one thing going for the Apex, it's that they're very nice looking sights. It's the looks that got me, plus I didn't want to pay the extra $30 for Spot Hogg Real Deal.

I did end up getting another sight. I ended up with a Spot Hogg Right On 5pin. The fact that the package said "Warranty" and "Indestructable" caught my eye . The wind died down this evening and I was able to dial in the 20-35 yd pins before dark. This is a very easy sight to use, unlike the Apex.

I have a Spot Hogg on my Bowtech - love it big time! So far I have found no issues what so ever with it. If the arrow does not kill the bear, I believe I could beat the bear to death with the sight!

I know that Spot Hoggs are a really good sight, you should not have a single problem with it.

After shooting Viper sights for the past 3 years, I broke down and bought a Spott-Hogg Hogg-It for my target bow. It was about $20 more then the viper Micro-tune that I was gonna buy, so I took the chance. By far the most expensive sight I have owned at about $185 shipped. That was without the wrap which is an extra $40. I am very impressed witht he build of the Spott Hogg sight. The micro tune works flawlessley, and there is a ton of adjustment. The pin adjustment is the cats-a$$!!! But, I am totally dissapointed with the pin brightness. Something I never was with Viper. I will probably sell this sight in the off season based on pin brightness. 2 weeks ago, I bought Jen a Sword Apex 3rd plane sight. It was $109 at Keystone. This isn't a microtune sight but the adjustments are smoother then any other sight I have owned. The pin brightness isn't on par with the Viper, but it is a lot brighter then my Spott Hogg. Both these sights are .019 pin sights. The Sword also came with a 3 stage sight light. I honestly think, this might be the biggest bang for your buck right now as sights go.
