I set this up at 2 yds from base of stand.Stand seat is 15 ft. Yellow rope is from 16 ft tied off like bow shot. I don't know how to do more than one picture so will do another thread

Excellent way to show angle of the shot As you can see....the line follows to the chest center , eliminating the possibility of a double lung shot. We did this shooting on the judgment call DVD and found that it was nearly impossible to double lung until you were past 12 yards.....even when shooting at the spot shown in the picture above. worst case scenario is a single lung (with an arrow) since the deer will likely remain on it's feet and moving.....most times dying 10 hours or more later. This is why I find this instructive yardage/angle target distastful.....it encourages taking these low percentage shots.

I just checked again, because I thought you might hit the hart after hitting one lung.On second check I think you might get lucky and hit some veins and arteries but think you will miss the hart itself.I think if it were one foot from the stand you might get the hart on a pass through. I have only had a deer that close twice. One brushed the tree.I was in a climber. The other hit the ladder stand trying to get out of town.I was watching deer and they paniced and took off.One min. later my Son shows up, he was home from work early and we didn't know the other was hunting

I took that shot once , long ago and I didn't hit the heart. If they do get that close I let them move along to 15 20 yards before taking the shot. Very tempting with the recurve though

All of those deer were recovered in a fairly short distance. some died in seconds and some took hours. If you think you single lunged a deer, give them at least 4 hours if you didn't see them go down. They will almost always if not pushed at all......as soon as they are pushed you are in for some longs hours and hard work, as they will go a LONG ways
