Sorry guys, just answered a pm explaining how I've over extended myself on xbow forums and now that hunting season and fire wood gathering is in, well.....
Plus [or should say minus] I had a bout w/ bacterial menengitus in 05 that like to killed me several times, but the long story short is it fried my short term memory. Where was I? lol
Oh yeah, how I ruint a $1000 xbow. Had a carrier for ATV I made for front rack that the stirrup hooked into and the stock fit in a padded upright channel. Kinda ugly, but only used it when I had a passenger. I have one for the back rack for normal operations.
On this fateful day, I had a fat azz passenger, went up a hill I'd done a gazillion times and we flipped over backwards. Neither of us were seriously hurt, just bruises and lumps, but the Y25 was totaled. One of only 75.
I hobbled around the shop packing it up and had friend run it to town to ship to Dan Miller, USA rep and the guy I bought it from. Stock was in 3 pieces, rear stock hole in rail ripped asunder, stirrup broke. What's really sad id I had a spare composite stock for it that I put on it when I used the rear rack on ATV to go out by myself. Coulda, woulda, shoulda switcvhed them out prior to the mishap.
Hadn't made my mind up what the "H" to do, was considering just getting another Ecet rail and stirrup, think limbs and riser were ok.
I talked w/ Miller the Wed after I had it shipped Mon and he already had another LH Y25 on it's way to me.
I told him "Holy Cow" I'm not sure I can swing the loot for that. He said "don't worry about it. As a matter of fact there's a bill w/ it for $X, tear it up."
I asked him how the hell that happened and he told me Bill T [owner] had sharpened his pencil, Danny had sharpened his and one or more of my friends on the Excal forum had got the job done.
I've since learned a little more about that, but don't wish to share it. It was a very kind and touching thing for me.
That's the story how #997 bit the dust, arose as #969.

I've a feeling you know the full story, lol. You don't have to 'steal the pit bull', he's yours for the asking. He's a good dog, but it would be worth him to see you guys again!

Great story, nice gear, 'shucks. Close relative to my Vortex, which I dearly love to let loose....with pretty much the same results.

So goes the story of the Y25, what about the story of arrow in ATV during a practice session! ;D Ask, ye shall receive, lol. Boo had a sweet compound. Last compound I shot was late 80's w/ an overdraw. All my previous bow experience was w/ stick bow as a kid and a recurve I managed to get a few deer w/ 40 yrs ago. I shot the overdraw and put 5 in a coffee cup sized group at 25 yds w/ peep and pin. Off center 6" or so and low, but a good group. Remember being absolutely amazed they could imbed a peep in a string and get it to turn on the draw, lol. Boo gave me the compound to try at 30. Got real nervous when I pulled the string back an inch or three to test his release trigger pull. I proceeded to lay one an inch or two off the "X". That's the lead in for this: He also had a sweet looking recurve. I took a few steps to about 15 yds and took a shot w/ it. Missed the target by 4' and stuck the arrow in the fender of my 4 whlr. Knew I should have quit while I was ahead. Also, I am left handed, left master eyed but always shot a bow right handed. Doomed me w/o sights, but left me w/ a view of my own on shooting [[ tuned compounds. I'd also add there was no way I'd ever draw a bow w/ a bhead behind my hand like that overdraw required. Not w/ my luck, lol.
