According to a friend in the xbow industry there are about 500,000 xbow hunters in North America.

If one noisy shot from an implement that does not shoot as flat as a modern compound vert is unfair so be it. Most modern verts shoot further . flatter and are as fast or faster than an average CB. Argument: you can hold a 8-10 lb crossbow longer. BS. The Concept 99 vert has 99% letoff and weighs half that of a crossbow. The weight of the bow alone keeps it cocked when suspended by the string......! (Don't believe me? Google Concept 99).
