I saw a couple last week (in NY for whatever reason) and they were good size but not stupid big I am thinking.
None the less.....pretty big gun for such a small market when viewed in terms of where it is legal for use.

We were actually shooting one tonight. it had to have the scope pretty much sighted in before the guy buying it came and picked it up. It was actually quieter than teh other cross bows i have shot. It was loud but not nearly as loud as the BK. It was accurate and fast as well.

I picked on up today at Bass Pro and it was a lot bigger than any of the others, but it felt nice an balance, but I don't know if it I would get one at $1500.

If I was hunting with a crossbow as my PRIMARY weapon, I wouldn't look anywhere else. It is quite a bit more quite than most x-bows, it is faster, it has a chain drive that draws it-allowing the exact same string placement everytime and is able to be uncocked with ease without firing it. It's a big nut to crack, but I have WAY over that invested in my primary hunting bows.

I would buy it if I were hunting with a crossbow only. If it were a secondary weapon to my gun I would still buy it. But if it were a weapon that interfered with my regular archery season I would pass.

It sounded loud on the video because you had to turn it up to hear the guy talking. A pretty quiet bow in my opinion. I have a Horton 200lb. crossbow and it's quiter than that. Quite a bit quieter. The report of the hit should be a signifcation that the volume is up a little loud.
As far as the Stryker goes...I wouldn't own one. Too expensive! Split limbs too, not for me. I personally think split limbs just make more room for error.
The power stroke DOES have something to do with it. A compound has much more penetration than a crossbow...your looking at a 30+inch stroke on those.
Stryker doesn't look bad, but WAY too expensive and split limbs bite in my opinion! They should have offered one stripped down, I could cock that bow, no need for the cocking device.
Quiver...I could use my own. Scope, I could use my own.
Personally I think their marketing campaign could have been a LOT better!

The report of the hit should be a signification that the volume is up a little loud. That is a very good observation Ditto the price but I dont care about the limbs. Hoyts are doing just fine with the design. Stroke has everything to do with it. The limb and cam configuration has very little to do with it. The one BIG advantage of that cocking mechanism is the continuous placement of the bolt on the same section of the string. Makes this bow very easy to tune and cock quickly without concern to the location of the string. Also reduces string wear across the rail because of this fact. JMO
