Thats a good observation and something I didn't pick up on.
Thats most likely where the added speed comes from due to a longer power stroke.
Maybe?

I know that the stroke makes a big diff. but if the thing is twice as long as a reg Xbow the speed diff for me might be outweighed by the cumbersome issue. Look at the pics, it like half as long as the damn bear Looks like a rocket launcher. Another thing i noticed all pics look like the animal was taken in wide open terrain, not sure how it would work in a treestand with brances around, but hey that's what a chainsaw if for right? ;D

Correction--the thing is not 1/2 the size of the bear, it IS the size of the bear Look at the pic of the british columbia bear, i just looked and about choked.

Pretty awesome. good enough to shell out $1600?..........if it was primary hunting weapon I would. I spend about $1300 for a full set up on my bows. It was a bit loud, but so are all x-bows I have shot. It was fast as.....well....... it was fast. you can't draw it by hand, there is a crank that slips into the stock. it is chain driven and allows you to let down as well as draw it. this also makes the string lock in at the same position everytime for better accuracy. It wasn't as bulky and big as it looks in the pics I have seen. very nice weapon indeed.
