If I know what is on the other side of the rise and I am hunting on private land, yes. I'll be aiming to put my arrow into that tree after the pass through.

As long as I know what lays beyond the deer, and that I know 100% it is a safe shot, I'm gonna aim to exit, just behind the offside leg. It will be a short tracking job, if the shot goes as planned

That it is. See the field in the distance? ..... is there someone or something there? Thats the problem....you cant tell and dont know....even if you just walked out of that field and over that ridge.
I once almost shot a pet because I turned my back on the target to walk 20 yards. maybe 15 seconds and from out of no where a cat is behind the back stop.
You know that field at my house Spiker?......right in the middle...cat got behind the Rinehart ball and jumped away on the arrows impact. Scared the crap out of the both of us ;D

It may be flat behind that buck and you were looking over the rise before you droped to shoot the instant this pic was taken. Plus my arrow will be in that tree on the other side

I would shoot - I guarantee there is no hunter within 15' of the deer critter and looking at the but-swell of the pine behind the deer the ground is flat for a little ways. A rifle would be a whole nother matter and there is no way I would shoot. An arrow is going to be in the dirt real quick after exiting the deer, a bullet could go another 1/4 mile.
