Don't rush. The peak of the chase will be between the 7th and the 10th. It's been the same every year I have hunted. thats when i see things heat up. Before bucks will be moving a bit looking and after they will start breeding. I see the 7th things heat up and die off after the 15th a bit. The 7th to the 15th will be the time to really be near the does. That being said from the 1st on I look for funnels between doe bedding areas.

It's about the same here in MI. First 10 days in November are always classic rut days.

Be in the woods on November 10th gentlemen. That is the magic day! I am heading North to Westchester on the 9th, just so I can be there the next day!

This morning I was reading the new field and stream. It always has "the best days to be in the woods" this time of year. I find that the days they say are your best chance for a big buck are pretty accurate. Last year I saw some good bucks when they said I would. This year they said to be in a funnel near a doe feeding area, such as an oak grove on Oct 22nd. Oct 22nd I was at the mouth of a funnel in an oak grove when I shot my 6pt. the next days they say are the 7th...........which is the 1 day this year I have to work from morning till dark. the 14th is a sure bet they say.......I'll be in IL so keep your fingers crossed.
