I am leaving NC for NY Thursday early AM, and should be on stand by 2:00 PM. It even looks like the rut is starting to kick in here in NC. I am sitting here at my desk and just had a 4 pointer go through the yard with his head down "bird dogging" one of the trails that runs beside the house. In the middle of the day, and in the rain!!!

I am so depressed! My bucks seem to be gay!.....they wont hit the scraps and they wont come to the grunt/rattling scenario.

I think that I did hit the some of the peak of the rut starting around 11/9. I did see several very nice 8 pointers, one at 15 yds. while I was halfway up my tree with the bow on the ground below me. However, after passing on a bunch of small bucks early in the week I decided to shoot at a nice spike on the last day. This is all that I have to show for it!

Just tell everyone that you were chopping wood to cook the backstraps on..........the backstraps of the next deer that came by that is.

The wiley sapling already has a place in my living room. Right next the the arrow that is in the wall where it hit when my loop slipped one night while I was testing it! I went to take it out of the wall, but my wife said to leave it there as it would be a good conversation piece. Well she was right about that!
