You wouldn't think that such a fundamental component of a bow would be so hard to find

Well, got a hold of Martin and they do have the cable guard and in the size that I need However, they don't take orders over the phone and the online ordering appears to accept only US addresses I have sent the order department an email seeing if there is any way around this They are about $15 and probably $10 shipping, so that sure beats the Australia price

Have you thought of putting the bends in the one you have? Also, you can get a cable slide that works on the other side of the cable rod. There is also a cable slide that is composed of two seperate rings. It will hold your cables on the off side of the rod and allows for each to move independently.

I have had one of the slides that goes on the other side of the rod but found that it puts a lot of strain on the cam Took it off on BTs recommendation. Can't put the bends in my rod as it is fiberglass. I haven't seen the last type of slide that you mention.

The Amazon link is the same item that I tried to buy from Martin At least I have this source to fall back on but I still have to ship it to the US as they won't ship it to Canada Thanks for the input.

Who would'a thunk a cable gaurd would be such a big deal. I scoured my shop - but the closest critter I have is a rear mount sts. No threads, no flanges, looks to have the same z shape, just need to take off the rubber boot. At $35 I would think you could find a used cable gaurd or a used STS.
