Howdy all, My wife just picked up an 05 Martin Cougar Magnum with the Nitrous "C" cams, for my daughter, but it's a little more than she can handle, So.. I gave her my Monster Bow, which is shoot through......and I'll be shooting the Cougar,...... So.. I was wondering if the converting the Cougar to the shoot through "X" system from Martin was worth the trouble?......It's an awesome shooter already, much, much quieter than the Monster and none of the un-nerving pops and creaks(at my draw weight), not quite as smooth though, which seems to be caused by the cables passing through the cable slide.....the "X" system eliminates the cable guard, so it should make it very smooth.... hopefully........now this Cougar only set us back $100, and is a target model with a shiny blue riser with flames, chrome cams, carbon limbs, and looks as if it's only been shot a few times... so we can afford to put a little more into it... if it's worth the trouble....Have any of you shot the Martin shoot through system?? and what do you think of it??.........Thanks,Steve

I have that bow but not as a shoot through. Like the bow alright but I don't like shoot through designs. However....when you get a picture , I'd like to see this one .... sounds cool

Well BT.... please explain...... I'd like to try this system for the smoothness, but also for the accuracy, in part due to the cable guard side loading, and cam lean it would eliminate.. seems like it would clear up these problems...... but I may be wrong.

I have shot the shoot through system out of a Martin Slayer X and one without it before I bought mine. In my opinion, there's not much difference in accuracy nor smoothness between both. I guess is because of the short 6" brace height of the bow. I decided to go with the Nitrous C cams on my Slayer X.
