Guys I bought a compound yesterday, been looking for one I could shoot for more than just a few arrows, I had my neck broken twice a few years back and it almost ended my shooting, but I went to trad a couple years ago and it really helped me get my strength back, the headaches subsided but I still couldn't shoot wheels they really hurt and after just a few arrows I was on my way to a weeks worth of migraines.. well I got a bow off my buddy Rob, it's a monsterized Oneida discovery,by Monster bows inc. 80@30 and it's as smooth as my best longbow and I can shoot it just as much, just got back from a couple hours worth of shooting and aside from a little tender shoulder, everything is fine.. no headache, no rice crispy neck, no pain, I love this bow!! screamin fast too!! shot with a couple switchback shooters today, they were amazed, wanted to know what it was, and " Holy Cow!!,How fast is that thing?" I haven't a clue either, may run it through the crono soon just for kicks, but it's plenty fast enough for me, definately the fastest, smoothest shooting bow I've ever had in my hands and I shot compounds for 20 years before my accident..........Steve

BT, there's not much Oneida left in this one, Monster Bows really solved all the problems with the Oneida design, this bow was one of the proto's for their new Phoenix bow, Rob has a new Phoenix and aside from a little different shaped riser and outboard limbs they are very, very similar (I like this riser better). there are NO timing issues with these bows and are the most adjustable ones I've ever seen, the letoff for instance is adjustable from zero to 92 percent, drawlength(26"-31") and weight(up to 80#) have substantial adjustments too, and you do not need a bowpress....ever! ,once you get it set up... it stays set up, no screwing around keeping it tuned like the old days..... and the best part... you can get a brand new phoenix for about $675, it is a truly awesome bow, and for the money ,well ,nothing else even comes close, it is that good!... the only bad thing is the wait, they have a long list as each one is hand built! Check into one BT, you will not be dissapointed, if you are..I will buy it from you!!...Steve

At one time, I owned a Firebrand Technologies/Discovery Bow Intensity. I think the concept of that bow came from Loomis and his son Trevor while at Oneida and Oneida actually made something like it called the Discovery Bow. The Loomis' bankrupt Oneida (Pollington bought it) and started making it under FBT with Trevor at the helm, along with some other bows with the same design concept (Intensity and Colorado models). It was the smoothest bow I ever did, or ever have, owned, but it had serious design flaws that destroyed the parts after a while; almost totally due to the break over limb design used in conjunction with a cable guide system. I remember they had a commercial on their website that showed them dry firing the bow over and over and then driving over it with a truck and then dry firing it some more to demonstrate it's toughness. And it was tough - until you shot it for a while. My Intensity went back to FBT because the outboard limbs would twist and when it came back, it folded up on me like a mouse trap on about the 10th shot. I'll never forget it. FBT folded as well due to running it like they had run Oneida, and Trevor Loomis seemed to disappear from the earth. Monster bows has taken that design to where it should have been with the shoot through cable system and quality made parts. They are FANTASTIC bows. Mikey and the guys are geniuses when it comes to this design. You are gonna love that bow for a long time. I hope Monster gets much bigger in the future. I'd like to have one as well. FBT Intensity. You can see why it didn't work and why Monster's do:

Great input snoodslapper, I had very basic knowledge of the history of oneida/ firebrand bows, I shot Oneidas till the aero-force came out, but quit about that time too, and never looked back till I saw these, I first had this bow about a year ago, but due to my ignorance in the adjustments,I couldn't get the weight or the draw I needed and kept it a very, very short time trading it off to Rob, but Saturday we got to talking at his place and he informed me they had instructions now,,well I talked him out of the bow since he had a new one, I READ the instructions, and a short time later had it up to 80@ 30... Perfect!!, didn't mean to mis-lead anyone, just figured the history lesson about my prior ignorance wasn't needed, well I should have included it, I have my moments, and I apologize for not doing so..............Steve
