Vital Bow Gear Pentagon Sight Review!!!
([blue]PLEASE NOTE REVISION..***ALUMINUM PINS..NOT PLASTIC[/blue])
Lets start with THE GOOD:
The biggest and best point of the sight is the pins!! A full yard of wrapped fiber makes these the brightest pins I have ever shot with even though they are small I can still see them better than the larger pins in other sights! They are as bright as a lighted sight but without the light! (no joke they really are) The attached pics really do not do the pins justice¡K sorry! Anyone who uses a vbg sight will attest to the pin brightness!
The pins and rings are aluminum!!!
There is a Glow strip under each of the wrapped fibers that will actually make your sight pins visable in a dark room! no joke I tried this! so low light conditions are not a problem!
Pin placement. The pins are the best of both worlds! This sight will work well for those of us who like the vertical pins and for those who like the horizontal pins! It allows you to pick shot placement better by being able to see more of the animal.
I really like the Micro adjustments for left to right and it is also micro adjustable vertically!
This sight is also equipped with a level for those who use one
The light weight!! The sight adds very little weight to the bow!
An available pin guard is also a plus!
THE OK:
The vertical micro adjustment is odd¡K it is kind of hard to tell just how far you moved the pins until it is tightened back up, the more I use it the easier it gets so not really a bad thing just takes some getting used to!
One other thing is that the pins can play tricks on you when you look at them! They may look as if not aligned straight. But this has not personally affected me when shooting. In fact the only time it did is when I first got the sight and took it out of the box! I assure you the pins are straight ļ
THE BAD:
The wrapped fibers could be protected better. They have a thin plastic coating around the rings that covers the wrapped fibers but I would like to see a thicker clear cover!
last but not least they are a bit pricey from the manufacturer... 154.00(with pin guard) You can shop and get the same setup w/out pin guard for 115.00
Given the same choices I would defiantly buy this sight again!!! Feel free to post questions comments!!
As with the other picture (vbg vs TR)there was no flash used in this pic. The picture still does no justice to the brightness of these pins!
