There are some issues with the new Hoyt Katera. It is pretty much a Vulcan but it has some issues........that hoyt has been made aware of and is now trying to figure out what to do. The major one is that the draw stop is set up so that it can sometimes slip between the split limbs and "lock" at full draw. NOT GOOD!

as far as I know that is the only "issue". the bottom line is that it is really just a Vulcan, so if you are looking at them, you can still probably find a Vulcan still around..........and believe me, I have put it through it's paces and it has no issues.

I have been looking and would love to have 60# on the Vulcan. Question, my draw length on the MQ32 is a measured 28 3/4" ( it is in spec and cam is supposed to be a 28 1/2"), would I be able to find a 28 1/2" or would it be best to get a 29 and twist it up a little? I think even with 60# versus my MQ at 70# I would still see a great improvement in flat trajectory all else being equal.

Get it to fit. i would get a 28.5"..............Mathews always run a little long. If you need the little bit of length add a longer loop. You are far better shooting .5" too short than .5" too long anyway.

My Vulcan measures a perfect 28"..so 28.5 would probably be right on the money as well. Like skip said ...28.5" plus the loop will put you right there... FYI...this bow seems to be indestructable..

Ok here's the deal on the Z3 cam. If you took the string stop out of the cam{some folks do because they like a spongy wall} there was a chance that the cam would over rotate and lock the bow @ full draw{but you'd have to pull mighty hard into the wall to do it } Hoyt is changing out the cam and putting one in with a track for the string to go {if you take off the stop}. So don't over look this bow esp. the XL, very smooth draw and good speed.
