Up at 3:30 AM tomorrow for my last spring gobbler hunt this year! Heading back out with my trusty 12 ga. Remington 870. Again shooting #4 3" Magnums. Day after tomorrow is the last day in PA....so gotta make it a good day hopefully. Five gobblers were seen yesterday by the owner of the ground where we are hunting......two of them VERY nice ones. We shall see how it goes!!!  |

Son-in law got this one about 9:00 AM. We had quite a few gobblers "talking back" early in the day but not much in the late afternoon and evening. We had another one in close, but he "busted" us and got away. This one was 10" beard, 1 " spurs and weighed about 16-17 lbs. That's it for this season...now to concentrate more on the fishing!  |

Well...I discovered some good news. One of the property owners where we have been hunting Turkey told us the PA spring gobbler season went OUT on labor day. Neither I, my Nephew or Son-in law checked the regs for sure...but just found out from another landowner (and now we checked) that the last day is Friday, May 31....so, we are going out again Friday. I have my "bird" in Va., but not PA yet.......so NOW I have another chance. My nephew is tagged out in PA, and my Son-in-law has one so far. Here we go again.......  |

HAHA... Thats cool. Dont be a Ted Nugent and get tripped up on a change in regs just because you have been hunting there forever |

Yep, just like ole' Ted....I just gotta' practice what I preach to others and make sure I personally read...really read the regs. I could have totally missed out on a whole "nuther" week of the season. I must be getting old! ;D But then again, the one land owner was wrong and two of my hunting buddies missed it. We ALL feel a little silly!  |
