They lined up with a small outfitter one of their friends had hunted with the past 4 years or so. They drove up from Maine and stayed for a week. Dad had a chance at a 300Lb+ on Day 1 and got overwhelmed by the excitement. This is a guy who hardly every misses, places Top5 in State 3D, and stalked and shot a laying Mulie @ 35yds in Co. But, seeing a bear that big the first time and he got Bear Fever. I took a shot that went low and no hit. They both then had various bear come in and around the baits with no shot presenting themselves. The last day they each got a shot and Dad tagged 165lbs and Bro around 70lbs (1.5yrs). The funny, not so funny, part was the Outfitter forgot to pack up their transport tag to get back across the border. Customs had them all freaked out that they were going to get jailed, etc. Then they called the Cell Number of the Outfitter, who was driving to the border figuring they would get held up. Customs let them through and the Outfitter supplied the tags to border patrol a short time later. They tagged 5 of 6 for that week, and the 6th turned down shots wanting a Gigantor Boar. They all had multiple sighting, and if they had been less ethical they could have taken more shots. I told my brother to get his stuffed, attach some barrel stave's, and put a saddle on it and make it a rocking bear for his daughter.
