I finally own my first brand new bow, all of my others were second hand. My wife and I were in Salt Lake City visiting her folks, whe decided to go to Cabelas just for the heck of it, I looked at bows and she looked at clothes. We left without buying anything (quite the feat for me). A couple of hours later she and her mom went out to pick up dinner, well they came back with a new Bear Element. Evidently my wife snuck around behind me and asked the clerk which bow I was looking at. I was amazed. My wife said that it was my "reward" for quiting smoking. It's not my dream bow, but its much better than the 10 year old bows I'm used to shooting. I shoots so much different and smoother than what I am used to. Jim

:-*Congratulations all around! You quit smoking, (that's a good thing), have a wife that appreciates you, and got a new bow ;D Yeah bows have changed big time in the last ten years. I was shooting a ten year old bow until recently. I had no idea just how much better the new bows are. Like you, I just got a new one, and it is so much better. Hard to imagine what they will be like in ten more years!

The Element is an outstanding bow. Don't let the price tag fool you. Got to shoot one quite a bit last year. You could spend twice the money and not get a better bow.

Yes I am a lucky man. I'll got an antelope hunt starting Friday here in Nevada and a bear hunt in Ontario, I fly out on the 16th of next month, I'll snap some pictures if I am lucky enough to tag one of the two. Most of my antelope area is on fire right now, but with any luck....... Jim

Good luck on the antelope and Ontario bear... Your wife sounds like she keeps your interests in mind, that is pretty cool that she would go back and snag you a new bow!!!
