Well, went over to Vince's yesterday and tuned in my new sight, an Apex Inferno I picked up when I was at Cabela's on Friday. I was using the arrows I ordered from Cabela's, their Carbon Hunters. I was shooting at 20 yards after I got the sight set in right, and I pulled a shot and it went over the McKenzie's back, and clipped a branch. The arrow pretty much exploded into three pieces!!!!. We found two of the pieces yesterday, the fletch end and a mid-section. It had knocked the nock out too. We found the rest today, so at least I got my field point back.
These arrows fly very well, and have excellent penetration at even 50 yards, but they just cant stand up to those stray branches... I like the arrows, as does my bow, so I guess I'm gonna have to be more careful till I can afford some better ones.

.... Now imagine what can happen to your arm if you get a small gouge or nick, and the arrow explodes on the bow....chuck those toothpicks before you get hurt.....IMHO..

Keep your ears open while you wait to run out because there are some carbons which are just alot stronger for the same money. (or close to it) I would offer some suggestions but the fact of the matter is that I have never tried to find the strongest arrow so I am not one to be speaking on the subject

Well I ain't afraid of giving an opinion!! ;D Carbon Express Terminators are the most durable arrows I've ever experienced. And are roughly $50/dz for plain shafts.

Listen to Michi...you won't go wrong! And you won't just have spent $150 to get to a reliable dozen!

Carbon Express has some changes in their line up this year. The reg Terminator and Terminator Hunter have been dropped. There is the Terminator Lite and Terminator XP. Thinking of buying up some leftover 2006 shafts or waiting to use up what I have and switch to something new in the lineup.

I picked up three of the Axis ST 400's last night, I'll give them a shot and see how they do.
