awesome! congrats on the bear. I really want to try for one again. Great shot too. About how big was it? what bow/set up were you using?

It was about 5' not real big. Did not wiegh it but I would guess 250 lbs. I am shooting a Hoyt Powertec at 64 lbs, 7595 XT Hunter arrows,125 gr. Slicktricks.

250#'s isn't a monster but it is still a very good bear. I would love to take a bear that size! Congrats once again

We barbecued the ribs and a couple of roasts last night. It was excellent eating. There were no leftovers.

Never heard of anyone eating bear ribs So what were they like? .... did you par-boil them first? .... how much meat was on those ribs?

Not a lot of meat on them. If you did not cut them up right away they would dry out and you would loose what meat is on them. Used a dry rub on them and put on the grill. They were tasty but a little tough in places. Might have tenderized them a little if we had parboiled them first.
