I have 2 45# recurves that I am practicing on now, I can roughly shoot a 4-6" group at 7 yards, that is roughly the farthest that I can shooting in my back yard. I want to point out that a 70# recurve would be akin to shooting a 150# compound I know that there are people who do it but they can also throw down on a 120# compound as if it were a fiberglass toy. Don't spend before you know for sure that you can handle this.

Let me rephrase this last comment of mine in relation to the 150# compound. There is no let off and there is no roll over. I know that you already realize this but the effort required to shoot that 150# compound and the 70# recurve would be about equal in my estimation , all things being equal. After rolling over the cams @ 150# and to hold 67# steady for perhaps a minute as would be anticipated when hunting , it would be like doing the same with a 70# recurve. To get an idea of what this would be like , imagine your compound hunting rig at 65# and multiply that stress by X2.5
