I found their website on Red's link.. www.adirondackreflections.com/servlet/StoreFrontI don't think this place is nearly as good as the one Red posted. I've seen the quality of taxidermists really go south in the last few years. I'm not much for mounts..but if I got one done, I would want it perfect..

The mounts at the beginning looked ok but they just dont have that realistic look to them like the link Red found. The sad part is that the work for taxidermist is alot easier now than 10 years ago. They have pressurized tanning tanks, now pickling the hide also seems to be a big thaing as well. Breaking hides even can be done at the same time as pickling or tanning. But it does make me appreciate the true artists as I know I dont have the patience for it.

The Taxidermist that I mentioned in this post just got started in it about four or five years ago due to a bad accident left him to change his line of work. He went to two different schools out west to learn how to do taxidermy the correct way. He even goes as far as to put a nasal cavity into the mount for realism . Who will see it I asked him and he told me I will. It was a loaded question but I wanted to see what his answer was. He also cuts the molds and resculpts them for realism. Then air brushes all the imperfections and sprays the nose so it looks wet and the whiskers on the deer have drops of what appears to be moisture. Like I said above average work for an average price.
