Spiker that is great you have someone like that close to you. Every bow shop I have went into around here the guy was still learning how to work on bows or was competent enough to get done what needed to be done, but a "PRO" no way. If I waited for a real pro shop to open I would never buy a bow. Not a Pro?....the Internet is the largest source of information out there. No institution can train you with the wealth of info. available on the web. All you have to do is buy the tools and start reading. Ditto, the internet will train you to "recognize" a Pro as well. It's kind of funny when you try to talk "shop" with some of these guys, and they don't know what the heck your talking about, or know anything about half the products you ask them about..

Some of the ones around here talk about brace height, timing of cams and so on but ask them how to measure it they are stomped . I am learning alot and just get aggravated when I hear these guys giving bad info to new bow hunters. This is why I'm starting to do my own work.
