I wish I could say that I always group like that.....I had a good morning. Sometimes my groups tend to be a bit larger. If I really focus I can shoot well, but as soon as I get the slightest bit distracted I open up. A few warm up shots usually get the "flyers" out of my system, problem is most deer don't let you warm up before the shot I know it's just repetition. I'll get it sooner or later. I have shot my long bow a bit in the past but it wasn't until January that I started getting serious about traditional shooting. If I hadn't bought my new TrykonXL I have a feeling that I would be shooting trad almost exclusively.

Here is a picture I just took of my other backyard range. This one is set up for 30yds or under. I have a stand hung at 15yds and 20' up. I can also shoot from my porch that is about 15" up and 30yds out. This range works great for standing on the porch, flinging a few arrows and going back inside. I just get the arrows at some point later on. Makes it easy to shoot a handful of arrows during the day without dedicating much time to it.

how much are you picking up those used back stops for?

so I have been playing with my recurve again. i switched to wood arrows and ditched the flipper rest. I'm still not sure if i'll shoot split or 3 under. Anyway I have been changing so many things that I can't seem to shoot a very consistant tight group. i am either on or off, no middle ground. Last week I decided to put the recurve down for a bit and just focus on the longbow, which I shoot very well and enjoy more anyway. I am also looking into ordering a new Shrew in 60#'s and I mght as well practice with one now!
Today was the first day I picked up the shrew since I killed that skipper the last day of Jan. From the first shot every shot was on! The majority of my shots hitting the "12" ring on my deer out to 20yds, even my off shots were still in the "10" ring. From 25-30(beyond my hunting range) many shots where in the 10 and 12 with the rest in the "8" ring. Still not too bad and I know I'll get better as I shoot everyday getting ready for Hogs this summer and deer come fall! I hope to shoot some more tomorrow and maybe get some pics.

I might pick up the LDB Longbow this summer but it's still too cold to start that.
