Oldfarms...what harness are you using that you consider it a pain in the rear to use. There are harnesses out there that are totally painless.

Being a gun hunter at hart I have got to get used to all the things I carry now that I never had to deal with before. The harness is OK but just one more thing to put on and make sure not to forget the safety rope that go's around the tree.I'm starting to get used to it and all the STOUGH I take into the woods with me this first bow season

This will sound funny, but I am so used to wearing one when I hunt that it felt strange hunting on the ground with out one.

Three years ago today I fell about 25 feet or so hanging a stand , didn't have on (1) of my about a dozen harnesses!! I broke my neck and back in 5 places and broke both arms! I could not feel my right leg for about a week about dead and paralized. Point being I had done killed a hand full of deer out of that tree over the years, so the steps were grown in. So I just climbed up hung it, stepped on it and I was laying on a tree on my back. The good lord wasn't apparently ready for me yet, so I got up and drove to my parents and took me to the hospital. Not telling this for pitty , but I had a one year old boy at the time and this puts in all into perspective. You owe it to them to wear one everytime!!!! No excuses!!! All did I mention I was on my churches 40 acres...HMMMM thank you lord!!

Good idea. This year I'm using the Gorilla exo Tech safety harness, and so far I love it. The one thing I like better than the HSS, or Muddy, is that the leg straps are wider, and cushioned. Everybody be safe.

I recently bought the HSS Ultralight...I am hoping I can get myself to wear it. To be honest, I've tried them in the past and they were a complete pain in the butt. First issue is the heat here....trying to get yourself to put on one more layer when it is in the mid 90's is difficult. Additionally, the ones I had in the past didn't not allow me to spin to take a shot, and were in the way if I wanted to hunt facing the tree...which I frequently do. Am I saying not to wear one? NO! Please do. My point...if these manufacturers want folks to wear it, make them lighter and have them attach in a way that doesn't prevent a shot....after all, if I can't shoot there is no reason for me to be in the stand in the first place.
