Young archers get their first real bow

It brought tears to my eyes to see these young hunters get started out by the people at HYH. It's tough economic times for a lot of folks but these young people will still be able to join our hunting ranks. That is FABULOUS!!!

Boy, its driving me bonkers waiting to get things rolling again.
I havehad to put things on hold for a while as I have been in charge of finding a house in Indiana and packing up the house here . for the last month we have been fixing all the little stuff up here at the house with whatever spare time we have in case we need to put this house on the market. My oldest is also in the process trying to finish for graduation and we have been helping him 3 days a week getting him to classes and back.

I have been working on reservations for the trip for Kevin (we have to make them for when they can get there)I couldnt get a hog hunt for him because I have no contacts in PA and its too difficult and very much expensive . In this economy no outfitters are willing to give an inch on costs
We settled on a striper bass charter for a 6 hour trip and lodging . This will be a much more enjoyable gift for Kevin as he is autistic and we werent sure if a hog hunt would be too much for him. too much excitement and noise can have very adverse effects with his condition.

We have been getting a few more bows and equipment from ebay and other tag sales to distribute.

Doegirl, I found a young man who desperately needed some equipment and camo clothing here in our town.His name is Timothy Harshman. He was floored when he saw all the goodies in the box, the suit fits great and he said "to tell the nice lady thankyou"

Pretty cool story here we have been leaving flyers in bow shops around us here. Yesterday we had a knock at the door a guy askin if we ran Helping Young Hunters he got our orginization name from a friend of a friend who picked up a flyer at a local bow shop. He is part of the local 4-h chapter and wants to pass our flyers on to the youths just getting started in archery we thought that was pretty cool the word is out!!!

thanks, we are in indiana now, but have worked in michigan mostly .
this weekend we were up to finish wraping up the house packing and got to take a break to set up a lovely young lady named christine with a brand new mohegan bow to call her own. she's 13 and quite the outdoors person
We purchased it through royden, at archery pursuits . Excellent shipping and prices .. hint hint !
we included some arrows and an armguard so she was straight to the target for some practice with it.



her dads girlfriend even wanted in on the fun so we let her use a bow to try her hand at it too

christine has been hunting with her dad and is a pretty good shot for someone so young.
It was awesome , im glad we could get this done while we were up here
now its back to indiana tomorrow after a bunch of loading of boxes and
hopefully a day to relax
