Well, I know last year I said I wanted to go for antelope but I was too slow on getting it all put together. This year I am already all over it. Just got off the phone and am now waiting on my packet with the details It'll be a 4 day hunt in SD. Now all I have to do is pray for a drought! I am so pumped right now. I actually have the jitters and I am 100's of miles and months away from a goat. I hope I can hold it together when I get there!

Does anyone have any tips for me? I'm lost as what to do shpould I just expect the got to turn and run at the shot? I'm thinking I should probably aim so my arrow will just clip the bottom of the heart if it dosen't move......that way I have a chance if it drops. watching some videos though it looks like they turn hard when they drop, so it won't be as simple as aim low. Shuold I expect to be at full draw for a while? anything you have lay it on me. I've never even seen a freakin' goat before. Pike county IL is as far west as have been

First of Skip, where in SD are you going to hunt? Nathan has openings the end of August if you are interested for $1500.00. Is it water hole set ups out of a blind or spot and stalk?

Here is a couple posts from WE. www.wildextremes.tv/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=5597.0I outfit in western SD for antelope and have a few spots open for '08 if you're interested in a guided hunt. We hunt private ranches with a great antelope population and when the weather cooperates my hunters have had better then average success encountering P&Y class goats. The hunt takes place out of blinds on waterholes. Of course getting an arrow into one of them is totally up to you... This is ONE awesome hunt If you get the chance to hunt these goats with Nathan, you won't be disappointed. There is never a lack of wildlife in front of the DB and the goats are all around you O0

I was glad to hear this skipmaster The most important thing is to turn the camera on If your using spitfires it isn't going to matter much where you hit them little guys....just hold center low on a slight angle ;(

More will to live than a deer and the bones are much harder to penetrate. Not sure though.

You will have the best guide possible You will have no problem blowing through any bone you hit They will jump the string Watch the video of my hunt and as many of Nathans as you can. He gets video of them coming to the water and through the whole thing. If I can get one ;D You will have no problem. Plus with Nathan as a guide you got it Can't wait to see you with that P & Y Goat Le me know when you are going and I will drive down and spend a couple days

One word of warning speed goats are addicting. I am planning on returning to MT. next fall for another DIY antelope. I did not get one last year (missed) but I had a blast. The area where I was hunting had quite a bit of irrigated ground so there was water all over. I was spot and stalking, and using a decoy. The area that I was hunting in did not have a real big antelope population but I was making at least 2 stalks per day. If you are going to spot and stalk get a good pair of leather gloves and a set of knee pads. I spent a lot of time crawling around on my hands and knees. I am sure you will have a great time.

I read that you have to shoot @ them from fairly short ranges{not like you would expect being out west}..there just to fast jumping the string.
