The fact is that people want bragging rights and fairness .... makes sense
So here is the deal .... We are going to run a split contest for the Buck and the Doe.
[yellow]ARCHERY ONLY!!!!!!!!!!![/yellow]
____________________________________________________
***One entry in either category with a one time entry limit in either category.
(my suggestion would be to keep your photo's in your file until the deadline and then enter your best )
Any antlered animal may be entered since scores will be judged against the P&Y records for whatever area you are hunting.
For example , a 6X6 elk that scores 25% of the current regional average for combined states where it is taken will end up being the same as a 10pt. buck that scores 25% of the regional average for the area it was taken in.
[yellow]BUCK [/yellow]
The country will be split into 8 area's with those area's combining their top P&Y scores (or B&C depending on best records which can be found) scores for an average.
The measurements of width and main beams will be used for the total score.
Submissions must be full view pictures where the measurement on the tape can be seen along with the bears tag with state and date visible.
Measurement for the main beams will be done straight off the skull from the base of the horn to the intersecting point where the main beam ends.
Measurements will be rounded off to the nearest 1/4" for score.
The total score will then be that percentage of the area's average.
In the event of a tie .... the highest total length of the combined G2's will be the tie breaker.
Below is an example and score.
(keep in mind that the one thing missing here is a picture of the hunter and the hunted.
There must be a picture of both together with any submission
[yellow]9"[/yellow]
[yellow]10" when rounding to the nearest 1/4" or when marks cannot be easily read as in this example[/yellow]
(make sure you take good picks )
[yellow]11 1/4"[/yellow]
(1/2" mark is visible above the tine but there is no clear measurement so the score goes back to the nearest 1/4" ;( )
[yellow]11 1/4"[/yellow]
[yellow]10 3/4"[/yellow]
[yellow] TOTAL SCORE : 125.4 [/yellow]
( no measurement for odd tines on one beam , ex. : 7 point is judged on 6)
Totals are added up , multiplied by 12 with fractions being brought into a fraction of 12ths and then added and divided by the area's of measurement (5 in this case)
white tail , elk , mule deer ,ect. can enter since you are working against a percentage of that animals score

[yellow]DOE[/yellow]
Since there is no perfect way to judge a Doe and there are no records to help determine an area's average , we will be scoring this contest on photo submission.
Rules are simple ....
A field Picture (one per. member) will be put on the boards scroller and a pole number imprinted on that picture to indicate which number to vote.
A poll will be set up for voting and the highest numbers of votes will win.
The object is obvious ..... get a Picture that makes people wish they were you or at least say to themselves "this guy should be working for national geographic!" ;D
The picture should be one that you would proudly hang on your homes wall for all to see.
That is what the vote will be based on .... the best picture of you and your Doe.
If you dont have a camera that includes a timer to get that picture then figure something out....be creative , just make it a good picture however you go about it
(example of a losing photo )
In the event of a tie in any of these contests , the members that are involved will be asked to choose a number between 1 & 100.
The randomizer will be used to choose a number and the member who is closest to that number will be the winner.
elk,white tail,mule deer,black tail , sitka .....whatever!
