Now keep in mind that Alaskan Archery is a sponsor here as I say this
I went to Alaskan Archery Supply because I wanted only the tops in the field to be sponsors here
IMHO the Alaskan Grizzly would be the best of the best if you are looking for a top penetration shaft.
I used to shoot Taper shafts long ago , got them from NJ and they were a great shaft.
Not super strong but a great shaft as to performance based on a taper shaft theory.
Fluted shafts worked on the same theory were as the baseline was that the shaft would have minimal contact and therefore reduce drag compared to other shafts at the time.
I did a test between the two and found the Taper shaft to be true to penetration benefit where as the fluted shafts gains were so minimal as to be arguable at best.
I soon left the taper shafts due to expense and the weight issue.(being caught up in the speed craze at the time
)
Some years later when planning a bear hunt I decided to look for the taper shafts again and thats how I found the Alaskan shafts.
The price was a choker but I sucked it up and ordered a 1/2 dozen.
(By the way....one of the best values I have ever seen in any arrow)
What I found was the strongest shaft I have ever seen in my life with the widest spine range to boot!
Besides being some of the coolest looking shafts they are also heavy!
I used the Alaskan Safari shafts at the time due to the weight of my bow but the Grizzly would work for you.
Also....
At the Alaskan Archery Co. you are speaking with the boss
You call and you will get a professional walk through on what best meets your needs.
