Maybe that Pike was a Muskie? If not that thing was certainly huge!! It's not a lake that's known for having Muskie (you start getting into those about 30 miles further east of this one). The other reason I'm pretty sure it's a pike is the spots (rather than stripes) on the bit of skin that is still their. Detail;

Pike have dark skin with light spots and Muskie are the exact opposite. Goiod eye!!

Yup. The rope has to be tight, and the more width the hammock has the more flat you can lay by getting a bit cross-ways. When you get ready to buy a Hennessy, check ebay with care. I got mine, like new, for right at half price. Just take your time and do multiple searches... That ebay search engine seems to be lacking a bit when it comes to finding stuff... One last note about Hennessy hammocks, they rate them for weight, or payload if you will. Mine is supposed to hold up to 300 pounds. The lighter hammocks they sell are usually rated for 250 or down to 200 pounds, which would not work at all for me. They have a comparison on their web page. www.hennessyhammock.com/comparisonchart.htmAlso, do you have a cheap source for the tarps? So, are you going to go back to this lake to do a little fishing, with a .44 side arm of course for landing the beast without getting eaten! It would have been neat to see that sucker whole!
