Well we went out today and Ray put a 5pt on the ground! I didn't get it on film because it was directly below my stand and I couldn't see it through the tree canopy next to me. I didn't even know Ray had a shot at that point. I'm trying to find the deer and get the camera on it..............ffffffffffffffffffft whack. The shot was over. It scared the crap out of me. I had no idea he had even drawn or that the deer was open and broadside at 17yds to him. It was slightly quartering towards. The spitfire took out(pending further inspection of the vitals) one lung and the liver. The deer ran 40yds, stopped, ran sideways and flipped @$$ over end into a stream. It was over in 2 seconds.

GOT ONE! After yesterdays disheartening experience I needed it. Who would have thought I would have had an opertunity this soon after messing up. wow. what a great spot. Of course Skip got a beautiful shot of my miss and only the sound of my shot on the deer i actually got. But i still wouldn't change a thing. Just last year I swore I would never use a mech head. After hearing BT's review on them and Skips advise I decided to try the spitfire. THANK YOU. They worked great. I'll have bloodtrail pics when skip gets them downloaded tomorrow.

Way to go Ray!!! Just make sure that when it is Skip's turn to shoot and you are filming, you get a perfect shot of his boots or something equally interesting!

We just reviewed the footage. I had the camera aimed at the deer although you couldn't see him through the leaves, you hear the shot and I follow the deer running for about 30yds. he gets out of frame but you hear him crash. At least i got something on film.
