Like John said, we're a bit behind.
I'm finally set with bow setup.
I was out scouting tonight. We should have everything up in the next week or 2. A bit later than usual but it should still be ok.

We have a few ladders but I prefer the hang ons. More versatility as far as positioning in the tree. As well as more adjustable height wise.

Vonotto, were you the guy that said that hearing leaf blowers and cars while hunting bothered you? I remember talking about this at one of the shoots but I can't remember who said it.
That's pretty much what all our CT spots deal with. There isn't much seclusion. Even in the 1900acre State Forest we hunti you can still hear some traffic, distant leaf blowers and mowers, back up beepers and such. You kinda get used to it.

If you can deal with all that we can probably put you in a stand Can't guarantee tagging or even seeing a deer. but that's hunting, right?

tALK ABOUT NOISE,they are puttin in a pool next door, buildin another house and makin all kinds of noise, the excavator starts up at 7.00am, better get my deer before then or there goin to see a dead one come runnin by

Yep, it was I. But I will make an exception for friendship's sake kinda like a social hunt

I was bummed today 'cause I wanted to get at least one stand hung and after the 3D it rained like crazy. I was watching a hunting video(cause thats all i do now, when I'm not shooting or reading hunting mags, gathering gear, or dreaming about 'ol mossy horns) and I couldn't take it anymore. I went out in a torrential downpour and hung a stand. Pops even came out a little after I started and helped me(crazy must run in the family). I was able to climb the tree with my LW and pull up the hang on. Lock it on and put in the steps on the way down. What a great way to do it if you can get a climber in the tree. It's about 18' so its good for trad. It's got a little funnel 15yds wide next to it, mountain laurels behind it and a clearing 180 degrees wide and 150yds long in front of it with only a dozen or so mature oaks in it. Good for the compound too! I saw a solid 130" buck here last year and a few good ones this year already. I'm glad I decided to go do that.. I feel like I acomplished something today.

I just pulled my trail camera yesterday. I had it out a week. I got 138 pics of deer on it. Thats just on a trail, no bait or nothing. some nice bucks too. a couple of 8 pointers. they are all pretty young, but one of the bigger ones will get it if he comes by me when I have my recurve. I'll have some pics when i sort through them all.

Wow, 138 pics in a week! Im lucky if I get 10 and most of them dont show anything Oh well I guess you get what you pay for ;D
