i finally came out hunting for black bear earlier this month
i went there 3 times and got a 350#+ bear on trail cam
he only comes at night
got also a moose on the cam and i was there when he came
he came to 1 feet to my blind and smell inside
i was frozen like $#@! he was standing there by 2 feet from my face
so we arrive there June 3
after arrival i went to refresh the baits
i quit the blind that night at 9h15 pm and stll nada
that night the bear came and ate everything
the night after i was there and he finally came in at 8h20 pm
i was like wtf that it's not the huge one i saw on the trail cam
i took the shot at 20 yards, perfect broadside shot, passed thru like in hot butter
actually the arrow went FARTHER than the bear did
i found the arrow 10 yards farther , i shoot slightly uphill
the bear fell 7-8 yard from the bait, i heard him breath bubbling blood and died in less than 10 seconds
shot was made with my switchback, 71#, 27.5'', maxima's 350, rocket wolverine BH
the rocket BH did a full sized entry wound and broke 2 ribs on each side with absolutely no damage to the head and blades
the bear weighted in at 105# field dressed with absolutely no fat at all
not a huge one but i'm proud of my first one
the pics are in that link
