Thats awesome. I have never even seen a bear. that's great your buddy made such a good shot and put him down. I'm sure he's pumped. Good luck tomorrow on your hunt. C'mon out to Manitoba, we've got 'em. what head was your buddy useing? It was an Eastman Outfitters Trilock. Flimsy looking 3 blade chisel point type head, but it did the job.

I would have run in the other direction after the shot considering the Eastman ~ LOL! Thanks for the Pics! .... Awesome stuff I also posted this in Blood trails and highlighted the distances If the Ribbon isn't working the actual blood trail is the best anyone could hope for and the way you did it was pretty darn clever Well done

Thanks BT, I was a little leery of those trilocks (still am). But in this particular case, they left a steady blood trail. Nothing gratuously gory, but steady, which is all you can hope for with bears. Steady enough that if you started Ray Charles at one end and Stevie Wonder at the other, they'd have been able to meet in the middle.

LOL! ~ thats why I wanted to get actual trails in here ... to give people a better idea of what they can expect. Gore is gore and the more the merrier when it comes to a quick human kill

BT,ill let ya no if there r anymore openings for the week we r going.we always try to get a full crew so we dont hafta hunt with any yahoo's.wen we went up last time, there was a group of 8-10 guys from Jersey that jus really pissed Mark an Randy off bigtime.they did fine at the target range, but couldnt do anything but wound animals wen actually hunting(bear an red deer).the best shot an hunter was the youngest....a kid about 17 yrs old. Mark told myself an my bro he put a 250lb bear down one shot...an also a red stag went down with one shot at about 125 yrds with an off hand shot.Mark told us that they will nOT b back to hunt again.my bro Mark an I will b getting together to c jus how many people are going in a month or so.some of the guys can never seem to giv us a definite answer,so we usually end up telling them either they giv us their deposit or we hafta find sumone else to fill their spot.the othe man or two we can trust,so we wait to send in their deposit along with ours. ill keep you informed of whats goin on if ya like.we usually go up the 1st or 2nd week of September...wich ever Mark Drew recommends.

Well '07 can always be arranged and if I commit I wont back out. So therefore if I commit it may be late by your standards. (or not.) I generally don't have more than two months out that I can plan for something like that but if two months notice is o.k. I can do that

Mark n Randy typically like to have confirmation an deposits in by March or April at the latest, but if one of our guys backs out,you will be the first i contact.other than that, all i can tell ya is i'll email Mark n Randy an see if they mite possibly be willing to add one more hunter "at last minute" so to speak with total paid in cash upon arrival.they are pretty nice country boys like ourselves, but i gotta keep reminding myself...they are also buisiness men at the same time.ill keep ya posted if i find anything out.
