I know that for the high majority here the season is over but seasons are still open I don't see a whole lot of talk pertaining to small game hunting anymore or predator hunting for that matter Whats the deal ?. Is it something that we all enjoyed in our youth but few enjoy anymore If so...why? Is it because the cost of an arrow is to extreme to chance losing one on such a target as a lowly squirrel?. Is it because the weather is just to cold?. Maybe it's a matter of not being willing to work and risk for a mouth sized morel or for that matter ....willing to eat that morsel in the first place I am curious to know the reasons behind this change in desire or rather....the lack there of. Would it be different to take the old .22 out instead?. For me it probably would make a big difference

I miss hunting with the my 'ol trusty .22 As much as I prefer bows over guns, I do miss that.
I'm gonna do a little bushytail hunting on video in the next week or so.
I may be out tonight for 'yotes if my caller gets charged in time.

My first gun was a 28ga. H&R, single shot. I killed more small game with that gun.
It looks calm and clear tonight, snow on the ground and a full moon. I'm waiting a bit to see how the camera is gonna work. If Ray come with me to film, I will try the bow. If I am trying to film myself, I will use my scattergun and Dead Coyote Hevi Shot.

My caller was upstairs in the shed and the battery is beyond dead. I hope i don't need another one. It has started to take a charge and if I remember correctly, it took 8hrs the first time, from being dead. It's not charged yet and it's after midnight, I have to be at work at 6am, so if it dosen't "go green" in the next few minutes, I'll have to wait 'till tomoorw night.

I was playing with it last night and I'm not sure it will pick up enough light. I have to play with the instructions and camera some more.

well I went out for 'yotes just a bit ago. it's a bit windy and my thermometer says 6 degrees. a nice full moon with snow on the ground. On my way into the spot I wanted to call, I noticed in the moonlight, a fairly fresh set of coyote tracks. couldnt be more than 12 hrs old, headed right past where I was calling. I though that was a good sign. I settled in and waited 15minutes before turning on the caller. I ended up calleing for 45 minutes or so and then sitting there quiet for another 20. Nothing........not one fox or yote came in. I could see downwind of me too and I didn't see anything circle in like I thought they would. oh well, there is always tomorrow. If I can find a roadkill this week, i will put it out there. once I know they found it, I will sit out over it the next night.
