Tonight I made a few heads up really quick. I took a wing nut and drilled it out until it would slide over the back of my FP and rest on the actual head of it. so it was held onto the arrow when the FP was tightened down. I took the "wings" and ground them down a bit and put a rough edge on them. The total weight of the nut plus the head is 120grains. If I grind the tip on my FP down so it is blunt, I will be right at 100grains. It looks kinda like the SGH from G5. Should work like a charm. I know I'm not the first to use a wing nut, but I never have and I think it will be much better with it sharpened up a bit. I'll have pics later.

I have the Muzzy springs going behind my 125 field point for a 150 total weight.
With the recurve I want something that stops the arrow.
I will just have to use a 125 broadhead like the Eskimo when the time comes to try some squirrel hunting.

Here is what I threw together. I think I'm gonna try and make a few "nice" ones with the Dremel, later this week. Each of these only took about 5minutes and they weigh the same.

Well, I braved the frigid temperatures and went outside to see how these little buggers shot. The were impacting slightly low of my FP's. I assume becasue of the air they eat up. 20yds and under they shot pretty well, certainly well enough to take squirrels. Any farther then that and they were losing acuracy. I'll be sticking with BH's and Rubber Bludgeons for my small game. Most of the Bushy tails I take are between 25 and 45yds, so I need a head that flies true to that range. I will however play with these heads and see what I can get for the recurve. With that bow I am only looking at 20yds or so.

Looks pretty good though for such a cheap fix

you might think about the size of the base. I once had some broadheads set up on an arrow without bar's - they were significantly larger than the shaft and flew horrible - I wonder if there could be a correlation. They look nice and wicked though - you only spent 5 minutes?

Yeah, I only spemt 5 minutes with a drill and bench grinder. They did work much better with the recurve. It's slower, has feathers and I only shoot about 20yds. I want to spend more time on one with a dremel and make sure it is symetrical, because these are not quite there. That should help a ton.
