This is where i would shoot these birds if i was not worried about other birds getting in the way.

wow. I'm the only one who thought all were offering pretty good shots, except for the left front bird and the fact that the birds are so close together. As long as you know where the vitals are any angle will work just fine. yeah but there is always an optimal shot

Not saying I am correct, but the shot that immediately inspired the most confidence for me was this one: eat my Spitfire.

As long as you know where the vitals are any angle will work just fine. yeah but there is always an optimal shot Yes, there is. Most of these come very darn close IMO. Broadside and quartering toward are my least favorite. - with broadside it is tough to pick the right spot, especially if they are puffed up. -quartering toward is real easy for a bird to step forward and hit too far back The next best is facing straight on. - It is a good shot but the base of the beard is the best place to hit, which means you might cut it off. You may also hold just off the beard because of this and hit poorly. The next best shot is quartering away -You can aim to clip the near wing but and drive up into the vitals, probably taking the spine too. If the bird takes a step you still should catch part of the vitals and far wingbut as well as the spine. If you hit between the wing buts you have vitals. My favorite shot is facing straight away - if the bird moves or you hit high or low, you will get the spine and maybe vitals. Left or right you'll catch the wingbut and maybe spine or vitals. If the bird is not strutting, the size looks small, making the vitals easier to "find". If the bird is strutting you aim for the anus

No shot. I'm only allowed one Gobbler in Ohio. Those are all hens.
