I had two big toms hung up for almost four hours this morning. The 4 guinea hens were there at first light but were not to bad. Then 2 hens came in and milled around for an hour. All this time I have one tom sitting 125-150 yards away. After an hour anouther shows up.They work back and forth but will not come in even with live bait. The hens left came back then one went to the toms and the other just left.He would gobble then move back then come in till 11:00 and I had enough .I think one I shot at twice and the other saw me come out of my blind that time when I thought he had left the tree by my blind.I took down my blind and Set it up at my son's house where I have only seen a coyote. On the way 1/4 mile away I have to slow down for 5 long beards in the road that had 12-14 inch beards.Looked like horse tails.I keep hearing them from my sons BUT RT 44 is between and if they don't cross it early the traffic is bad.I did see them run across at 6:45 just the day before the season opened. Will try again tomorrow.
