So as I understand this, a very wide cutting path is a disadvantage because of the extreme toughness of this particular game animal? This guy Tim Hicks does he ever check back on his threads? Very irresponsible of him!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Some guys! Anyway...thanks for the accolades! LOL!......That guy is just different ..... he will wander back at some point! This is my position except when hunting regions such as Tim hunts at times Where brush is super thick such as parts of Texas - Florida , I want a hybrid ideally which I make myself. These heads will have the minimum drag with the maximum cut on entry. Heads such as the old Punchcutter were perfect by design as they would hold the blades at full open ( 90 degree's) until all bone had been passed and then it laid down to 30 degree's allowing for easy entry on hard areas plus an excellent opening to allow blood to flow. Although the entrance wound may have been superfishal....it allowed the hunter to track to the dead pig.

What broadhead would you suggest for a 45lbs recurve for hogs? Someday when I have unlimited money I will upgrade to a more powerful bow, but right now I have what I have and it will have to do. With that bow what would you suggest? I have been reading all of the traditional review and I think Zwickey Eskimo 160gr might be a good place to start, but I think that a lighter grain might be the way to go, what do ya'll think?
Thanks, Chester

Match the head to the arrow If you are getting best flight with one weight then don't change that weight and instead go with the best in that weight class. My suggestion would be as follows 85gr: Magnus Stinger 100gr: Simmons Razor Shark 125gr: 85gr Magnus Stinger w/ Brass insert for carbon arrow (7grns less wont matter at all) 150gr: Zwickey Eskimo (15 grns.more wont effect anything)
