I thought I would post up these pics to show just how low you can hit a hog and still take care of business. Hogs are not tough to kill if you hit them low.

Great shot cc...
Hogs are ALWAYS in the freezer when they are hit low, for sure! I like lung shots on about ANY animal but you can't go wrong with a hit like this...as can be seen!
Where was the exit wound?

BTW: this is the shot I've had best luck with. Wait for a slightly quartering away, tad higher shot and take both lungs. They take the dirt nap in a hurry.

I had a domestic "downer" sow that needed to be dispatched and when I studied the anatomy to properly place the shot I was very surprised how low the heart and lungs are. Seems you know right where they are!

the heart sits right on the chest cavity as you see!! that's a perfect shot on a hog and if you are a little high you have both lungs!! good going!!
