$329. & 429. non-stop to Dallas $400. (average) lodging and animal $75. X-tra carry on for meat transportation $? Car rental $? Airport transportation
I dont know as it is less expensive and it is certainly more complicated when it comes to coming and going.... unless your willing to use airport parking and/or rentals. Greg and I talked about this last year and regardless of where we went in Texas, it was going to be more expensive and time consuming then going to the Big Boar Lodge.
There are some places in Florida and South Carolina that offer Texas prices but I haven't seen any that I would invite a dozen people too.

How about a new place easier on the pocket book! there are other places...... there would be more people interested @ reasonable prices, maybe!!! Here is the base criteria....I'm open to suggestions#1: Need good lodging....no mud hut, canvas blankets or fend for yourself arrangement. This is a get together and a vacation....no roughing it to the point of where it detracts from the event. #2: all options for hunting....stalking, stands...whatever. No restrictions #3: No hidden fee's #4: Butcher/freezing facility. #5: Group discount #6: No outside groups and/or individuals on same ground. No guns on same preserve within 800 yards of same ground. I.E.: no other persons/groups out there with us.I dont want to have to risk safety with some yahoo who could accidentally kill one of my guests.

OK I'm not saying we have to go to Texas!! I'm most familiar with the cost of this trip since I've hunted there a bunch including OK... To hunt south Texas you fly to Austin or San Antonio then it's only hour drive to ranches most ranches aren't mud huts you can go primitive to downright comfy depending on ranch you pick...
As I've stated before flying from NY if you left from Albany ( sorry just using where i fly from ) its been $200 - 270 R/t and if you fly southwest you get more bags on without extra charges
charges for hunt range from $75 /day - $200 just for hogs but it doesn't mean meals included... some have that
yes rental truck would be best but if we are smart and use long weekend Enterprise rental has 50% off weekend rentals!!
food would be split just as you did at big boar
so cost are more in line as :
$200 - 275 r/t to Austin or San Antonio $150 - 300 (average) for 2 day hunt lodging and animal $ 75 for extra cooler $ car rental split and gas with food add $ 45 license fee
yes it is a little more complicated but can be done people who live closer might drive in some people drive 10- 17 hours to hunt
I understand it is closer to home so it is easier but for the same or even less amount of money you are spending you can see somewhere new!!

Oppps missed your replay to the previous....
so this is $700+? I think that the + could easily translate to the total being in excess of our total last year....tips included.
That said....if it's doable for the majority and folks believe that there is better value....
How about some links to places that you are talking about?.

In terms of transportation costs, last year the rental car and gas set me back approx $350.00. Remember that gas was $4.20+ /gallon last July. Total costs for last year's trip about $1200.00 for me. The actual price of the animal was only 1/2 my expenses.
