I haven't hunted for a while dew to being tagged out and
having to Wait for muzzleloader season.Once opened it
was to cold and windy!!Being old and retired I am lucky
to be able to pick my days.I was sick for many days with
a cough I had no control over.I wasen't going to sit in a
tree coughing!!.We had a little snow this week and I was
going out one way or anouther.Got into the same tree stand
I took my last buck by 6:30.At 6:45 I hung a little mix of
doe pee and doe in heat out from the tree I was in.The
wind was blowing hard in the direction I wanted it to go.
At 7:10 I heard a crunch and saw what I thought was a doe.
I had a muzzle loader and looked through the scope.I thought
it might be a small racked buck.It was on alert but walking
toward me.It stoped behind some tree trunks and I lost
sight of it for a min. or so.I think he was getting nervous not
seeing a doe.He started to run and I had just removed my
gloves and wiped my scope that had fogged. He was moving and
I started yelling HAY-HAY-HAY and he finally stoped.I was on
him and pulled the trigger the second he stopped. The gun
made a pitiful bang and he just ran off!!I said I can't believe
I missed him.I watched as he ran and after 40-50 yards just
fell over.
I got my first muzzy deer.I climbed down and after
a little looking found him.WOW this can't be the same buck
But it was I never look at antlers after I decide I want to take
one untill they are down.He has 12 points and is a great deer.
