I've been scouting out a few new places for my fall hunt and things are looking good. Lots of sign and sorry no pics but it looks good for this fall. How abour the rest of you? anyone working on their food plots? I have no place to put one in but enjoy seeing others! Still practicing every other day, but boy can't wait for the coming season!!! The next few months just can't get going fast enough!!

I started scouting for this season last weekend. We got back on a ridge at ~12,200 feet and looked in to about 5 drainages. In one, we found about 40 head of elk - around 15 of which were babys! Spots and all, jumping around and kicking up their heals! We watched until they bedded down for a nap. Saw two bulls that were looking like they'd be in the 6 point area. We also spied about 4 bulls, all small bulls but for one that might end up a 5 pointer. This weekend I am rafting with the family, the following weekend I am supposed to be down by Aspen glassing and scouting again - this time on the dirt bike following up jeep trails (The bike is a 2006 YZ250F - only raced a little...). However, my summer of scouting is about to be cut short, my wonderful employer is going to enforce weekend working starting next weekend. I don't know how long it will last, could be all summer. We have a very full schedule. (I should be making a lot more money for that, I don't get overtime, but I am happy to have a job.) I am worried, though, about my scouting time for this summer. It appears to be in peril! We'll see I suppose.

I also don't have food plots in these rocks. I do hope yer scouting goes well. I don't scout here, i knowed the few trails on my place. Its just a matter of how much freezer meat i want & which Bucks headgear suits me.
