I bought Logan new arrows this week and fletched a few for her. last night she begged me to show her how to do it herself. She did one and it came out pretty good. The next one she said she wanted to splice. She saw a 2 minute video clip on how to do it at a hunting and fishing show in Feb and has wanted to do it ever since. I told her I wasn't sure how it would come out as I have never done it before and this was only her second arrow. She decide to go ahead and try anyway......and it came out great! Now she wants more arrows and to start doing mine to see how fancy she can get. She is also talking about buying a cresting jig! I can't wait! Here are her first 2 attempts at fletching arrows!

Hey - Nice job!!! Those look great, if I were you I'd give her all of your arrows... A quick guide to splicing feathers... www.trueflightfeathers.com/guide.htmIf anyone finds a better one, please post it!

Looks awesome. If she enjoys it and has the time people pay good money for custom flecthing jobs... Just a thought.

Hahah. yeah, she'll be doing a bunch of my arrows! If she really likes it and keeps at it as well as cresting......than maybe she will do other peoples.
Hey, I don't go through too many arrows these days!
SMJ- thats exactly how she did it. It's really not as hard as it seems when looking at the finished project

Great stuff there i wanna learn how to do it with regular fletches By that, you mean plastic fletch? You can do this with feathers, they stick back together. With plastic, you will have to work at it a bit - otherwise that little guy in the middle will flap in the wind when you shoot it! Short of paint or a sharpie - hot glue gun - anyone have any ideas to dress up a plastic fletch without messing up the flight characteristics? I suppose if you made the the angles so the parts point back to the rear of the fletch, and made the parts large enough to support themselves - it would probably work. Maybe I'll give it a try this weekend, just for grins.
