If you're not into lighted nocks, here's a simple solution. Fletch with florescent vanes (mine are flo orange Blazers) then use a black light to search for the arrow at night. The vanes light up and glow when the light hits them.

I only shot one deer on the ground and used a metal detector and grid search pattern to find the arrow. It went into a pasture with thick grass about 8 inch high. The arrow was flat on the ground and the fletching was not visible. Took me about 1 and 1/2 hours. My metal detector indicates different metal types and the brass insert made it stand out for the other junk.
I am one of those people that can not stand to lose an arrow. ;D
