The crazy part is that they would often dress village girls in wolf skins and have them run to train the golden eagles!

Wow...impressive birds for sure. Saw many while on Kodiak Island...you just can't get an appreciation for their size until you see them in person.

Out at our archery range we have the largest winter roost site on the front range for eagles. There can be up to 80 of them out there come evening. I have found all kinds of stay animal bits laying around the course. From what I've seen, they like cat. After watching the video, I can't believe a cat gives much of a fight!
The other day I was watching two red tail hawks try to steal a meal, not sure what it was, from an eagle. The hawks tried hard, and at one point the eagle started to leave... But then a second eagle showed up... Mate maybe? I can never tell gender on bald eagles, anyway, the hawks got off easy and the eagles ate whatever it was. Eventually flew off with the remainder. I'd never seen eagles share before either, thats why I suggest it may have been a mate. It was sure neat to watch though! With all the P-doggies out there, I don't think any of them were hurting for food, though I imagine that by spring they start to run out of cats!
