Fun to shoot but frustrating at the same time. I need to get to shooting mine also. It's been too long. I have another Thunderstick in the works. I hope to have it next month. This one should be drop dead gorgeous!

Spent three hours shooting the longbow today. Spiker made a good observation when he said that I was pushing myself to hard to meet my own expectations. Today I flew the first arrow right in the pocket and then very slowly worked my way to the left 6" over the first hour. The second hour was spent with the adjustments to hand placement,anchor,ect.. The third hour was spent totally on point of aim. In the end I refined it down to better then yesterday but only slightly since yesterday was very good This is always the place where everyone seems to squirm When you get down to inches it is a battle to keep from adding additional inches as opposed to subtracting them since there is only a little left to subtract. Right now I am @ a maximum of a 6" dia. at 20 yards , 4" @ 15yrds and 2" @ 12yrds or less. Now common sense would dictate that I concentrate on 15yrds and forget the rest and adapt to that distance while hunting. It would be reasonable and human to keep those shots down to 15yrds or less but I cant just leave it alone when it comes to the 3-D distances

I shot for a bit today and had a few issues to start. I seemed to be off a little, most likely due to shooting all the other trad bows.........all having slightly different anchors and grips. I was consistantly shooting 2" left. I know it is only 2" but it drove me nuts. I have only been shooting one arrow at a time and it was hitting the same hole. Great consistancy but just a little off. I moved my anchor around just a tiny bit, bingo. I'm right on again. So, I can't leave good enough alone and I grab the recurve. At 20yds I draw back and hit the anchor I use for that bow. The sight picture didn't seem quite right, but my anchor was solid and the rest was sitting on my aiming point...............I release and the arrow sails over the target by a good 2 feet! It was then that I realized that I was shooting split finger, like my longbow! I shoot the recurve 3 fingers under. After I got that out of my system, i was pretty much right on at 20yds. It was a good day overall.

It is not quite center shot, but more so than my Howatt or your Berry. seems to make quite a difference.

When you guys line it up, are you keeping track of your feet? Just asking as I never hear anyone comment about moving a foot an inch or two left or right.
Center shot or shoot around - if that's making a difference then you are probably shooting to stiff an arrow out of the non-center shot bow.
Just my 2 cents...

Yeah, like i said before in another post. my arrows were a bit too stiff with my Howatt and i think a lighter spine would help a lot. i just need some heavier heads for that bow. BT has played with a lot of spines for his.......hopefully we'll get it all worked out in the next few weeks.
as to foot position.....I don't worry about that too much. as long as I keep my upper body pretty similar. with my compund i rarely look at my feet.......the deer never come in from the right direction. The same with the longbow, I have been practicing standing, kneeling, straight up, canted.......it all seems to work the same.
