I hope this works ... this is the link to the pictures I've uploaded. s882.photobucket.com/albums/ac29/omegabuck/I need help in determining if ... 1. If it's 13" or greater .... 2. If you would take it .... 3. If you would pass it up .... 4. Any other information you might be willing to share regarding the pictures.

Thats real close IMO but I dont think 13" Here is how I am looking at it ... 3" between the beams where they attach to the head 6" wide ears at nearly a 45degree angle is 3...maybe 4" Thats 11" Then maybe 1" outside each ear....thats 13 max.
I dont know.....it's close

On the question of take him or not.... My impressions of him... He is a young deer, probably 2 1/2 y.o. He doesn't have the body of a mature buck. He doesn't have much antler mass either. I personally think this deer has a ton of potential.
But, that being said. In the area you hunt, is he a good buck? Are there a lot of older age class bucks? I think given another 2 years, this will be a very good, if not a great deer.
The bottom line is this. If you would be happy taking him, and it is legal to do so, have had it. I'm not one to belittle or tease anyone for their choice in deer they take. It is a personal decision. You are the only one who has to be happy with the deer.
Good luck!

I really hate these questionnaires. That's a monster buck in my area, and there wouldn't be a doubt as to whether a shot would be taken on him. Heck, if he was a spike he would be in danger.

must be nice to have enough big bucks around to warrant a debate ... I would not hesitate to take him home for dinner.. 13" looks just about right to me -

Personnally, I wouldn't think twice about it. He's a shooter in my book.
The nice thing is that there is there is a real world debate going on here. I think our judgement gets clouded because of all the huge monster bucks we see getting shot on TV just to sell stuff.
I say, go for it unless you just want to see what he looks like next year.

I have to agree with Spiker.I'd take him in a hart beat.In my area he would be nocturnal by now.Yes if he lives he will be better every year, but if he comes to your bait pile he also is going to others. No buck in his right mind should be out at 8:00 in the morning. You must have lots of bucks in your area.I find it hard to believe they are hanging around after the bachelor groops split up in Sept.I think he is 3.5 + Deer in New England don't get like that in 2.5 years.Year one 75-85 LB Year two 115-125.Year three 125-150 year four 150-180 on avg.Take him if you can unless you have others.I have a nice 3.5 buck I'll let pass but anouther 3.5+ I'll take if I see him again because he is a four pointer and should be culled. But I know the 8 has to live through 35 more days of hunting then winter coyotes and summer traffic.JMO

Actually, that's not the deer I'm questioning ... the one in question is in color. Deer in my area aren't that big ... this deer is not getting the credit it deserves in regards to the rack, I just don't have a good picture of him. He's the only deer in the area with a doe, and there's only a couple doe in the area (the guy who had it last year killed everything in sight, legal or not.) I ask only because I want to make absolutely sure. Personally, this non typical is going down if I get a shot at him! LOL It's a 2 buck county, one buck 13" or greater, and a spike. Now .... regarding a spike, I have on camera (somewhere) a spike around 4 - 5 years old, he's the biggest body deer I've seen in these parts alive, but getting a shot at him is another story, the guy didn't live that long being ignorant. LOL The color picture of the 8 point ... I've seen twice, and I keep getting closer to bow range, the Non Typical ... last encounter with him was jaw dropping, and if I see either of them this weekend, I just might have to send a message of DEAD DEER WALKING their way.
